A short video surrounding the controversy in 2010 of a project to build an Islamic cultural center and mosque near ground zero. On the ninth anniversary of 9/11, conservative and religious Americans opposed to the mosque project gathered in lower Manhattan to protest against the project. They claimed that this was sacred ground. There were also many citizens who came to support the project in the name of religious tolerance. President Obama reaffirmed the right of all Americans to freely practice the religion of their choice. The project was ultimately dropped.
